What seasons do you operate ATV and snowmobile tours in Bend, Oregon?
We run adventures year round across three locations.
- ATV tours and rentals at our Santiam Pass trailhead near Sisters run May through October.
- Our Hidden Canyon ATV tour at Brasada Ranch on the Millican Plateau Primarily run March through November, but can operate year-round if conditions allow.
- Snowmobile tours through the Newberry National Volcanic Monument near Sunriver run December through April.
Between the three locations, there’s a Central Oregon adventure available almost any month you visit.
Are your ATV and snowmobile tours good for kids and families?
Yes. Families are some of our most common guests. The Polaris Xpedition Northstar seats five inside a fully enclosed, climate controlled cab, which is the vehicle most families with younger kids choose. Children just need to be tall enough to wear a standard 3-point seatbelt safely, and no prior ATV or snowmobile experience is required for anyone in the group.
What are the age requirements to drive and ride as a passenger?
Drivers must be 21 or older, or 25 or older if any passengers are minors. Passengers need to be tall enough to sit properly in a seat and wear a standard automotive style seatbelt. generally in the 45 to 48 inch range depending on the vehicle. There’s no upper age limit. If you have a valid driver’s license and can drive a car, you can drive one of our machines.
Do I need ATV or snowmobile experience before booking?
No. All of our vehicles have automatic transmission, so if you can drive a car, you’re ready to ride. Every tour and rental starts with a full orientation covering vehicle operation and navigation before you ever leave the trailhead. Most of our guests have never been on an ATV or snowmobile before their first trip with us
Which Octane Adventures location should I book?
It depends on what you’re after. Our Sisters location is the home base and premier location for ATV tours and rentals to lava fields, alpine lakes, and incredible Cascade Mountain views. Brasada Ranch on the Millican Plateau is a shorter, high desert tour through old growth Juniper terrain. Sunriver is where our snowmobile tours run through Newberry National Volcanic Monument in winter.
How far are your tour locations from Bend, Oregon?
Our Sisters ATV location is about 30 minutes from Bend.
Our Sunriver snowmobile location is about 45 minutes from Bend.
Our Millican Location is about 25 Minutes east of Bend.

Reservations and Cancellations
Tours are conducted regardless of weather conditions, except in extreme circumstances. If Octane Adventures has to cancel for any reason, you will receive a full refund. Do not be late for your reservation or your booking may be forfeited.
- You can make any changes or cancellations up to 72 hours before your tour date and you will receive a full refund minus a non-refundable 10% fee.
- If you make any changes or cancellations within 72 hours, you can reschedule, take an in-store credit or 50% of the trip payment will be forfeited.
- We do not offer refunds for cancellations within 24 hours of your tour.
NO-SHOWS:
- No refunds are given for No-Shows. Cancellations after 5pm the day prior to the tour or cancellations the day of the tour are considered a No-Show.
Credit Card Damage Deposits
For all ATV rentals, we require a damage deposit equal to the deductible amount selected with your insurance option—either the standard $3,000 deductible or the reduced $1,500 deductible with our upgrade
For Snowmobile Tours we do not collect a damage deposit.
