ATV Rentals Near Bend, Oregon
Show Up and Ride
Most ATV rental companies in Central Oregon hand you a trailer and a map and wish you luck. Not us. At Octane Adventures, your brand-new Polaris RZR is waiting at the trailhead when you arrive — fueled, GPS-loaded, and ready to go. No trailering, no logistics, no wasted time. Just show up and ride.
Our ATV rentals operate from our Santiam Pass trailhead, five miles outside Sisters and 30 minutes from Bend, on some of the most dramatic volcanic terrain in the Pacific Northwest. Choose a 4-hour or full 8-hour adventure and explore hundreds of miles of trail through lava fields, alpine lakes, and Cascade Mountain terrain at your own pace.
The Only ATV Rental Where You Show Up and Ride
Here’s How it Works
Every other ATV rental company in the Bend and Sisters area operates the same way: they hand you a vehicle strapped to a trailer, give you directions to a trailhead, and leave you to figure out the rest. You trailer the machine, unload it yourself, ride, load it back up, and return it. That’s a significant amount of logistics for what should be a straightforward adventure.
Octane Adventures works differently. We’re based at the Santiam Pass trailhead — which means your rental is already where you need it when you arrive. No trailer hitch, no loading and unloading, no wondering if you’re at the right trailhead. You sign your waiver, get your orientation, and you’re on the trail within minutes of pulling into the parking area.
What’s included in every ATV rental:
- Brand-new Polaris RZR XP1000 or Polaris Xpedition — your choice based on group size
- Polaris Ride Command GPS navigation — full trail map pre-loaded, no phone signal needed
- Helmets and goggles for all riders
- Full vehicle orientation before departure
- Trail-side assistance available throughout your rental window
- Insurance protection options — the best coverage available from any ATV rental in Central Oregon
Choose Your Rental
Half or Full-Day Adventure
Both options give you complete freedom to explore the Santiam Pass trail system at your own pace, with the GPS-mapped route keeping you oriented across hundreds of miles of volcanic terrain.
4-Hour Self-Guided ATV Rental
The 4-hour rental covers the highlights of the Santiam Pass — Cascade Mountain viewpoints, sections of the lava fields, and the most accessible points of interest along the route. It’s the right choice if you’re pressed for time, have younger passengers, or want a taste of the terrain without committing to a full day. You can cover the main points of interest efficiently with the GPS guide routing you through.
Honest advice: if you haven’t been on the trails before and want to see everything, our guided Black Sands ATV Tour covers the same terrain more efficiently and includes a guide.
Duration: 4-Hours
$550/ATV (4-Seater)
8-Hour Self-Guided ATV Rental
The full-day rental is the way most of our repeat guests book. Eight hours gives you time to reach the furthest points on the trail system, stop as long as you like at every lake or viewpoint, pack a lunch and eat it on a ridge with Cascade Mountain views, and still get back before dark. There’s no rushing, no guide setting the pace — just you, your group, and the most diverse volcanic terrain in Oregon.
Most guests who book the 4-hour rental come back and book the 8-hour. If you’re already considering it, start with the full day.
Duration: 8-Hours
$700/ATV (4-Seater)
Brand-New Polaris Fleet
Refreshed Every Season
We are the only ATV rental operator in Central Oregon that refreshes our entire fleet every season. Every vehicle in our lineup is a current-model-year Polaris — not a 2019 or 2021 that’s done several thousand trail miles. Our machines come off the dealer lot, go through our inspection process, and go directly onto the trail.
Why does this matter for you? Newer vehicles have fewer mechanical issues, better performance across varied terrain, and significantly more rider comfort technology. Our Polaris RZR XP1000 comes with Ride Command — a full touchscreen GPS with reverse camera and Bluetooth stereo — standard. Most competitors’ older fleet vehicles have none of that.
Polaris RZR XP 1000 (4-Seater)
Our flagship rental vehicle. High-performance side-by-side with sport-tuned suspension, automatic transmission, and power steering. Seats four across two rows inside a roll cage with full seatbelts. The RZR is the machine serious off-road enthusiasts request by name — and it’s what every guest at Octane Adventures gets as standard.
- Seats 4 | Automatic transmission | Power steering
- Polaris Ride Command GPS with reverse camera
- Sport-tuned suspension for Cascade Mountain terrain
Polaris Xpedition Northstar (5-Seater)
The Xpedition is our family and comfort vehicle. Five seats inside a fully enclosed, climate-controlled cab with premium audio. This is the machine for guests with younger kids, groups that want shelter from dust or weather, or anyone who wants the full off-road experience without the open-air exposure. The Xpedition handles every trail the RZR does — it just does it with considerably more comfort.
- Seats 5 | Fully enclosed cab | Climate control | Premium audio
- Polaris Ride Command GPS | Ideal for families with children
- Weather protection | Go in any weather condition
The Best ATV Rental Insurance in Central Oregon
No other ATV rental in Central Oregon area offers the level of rider protection we do. Before you leave the trailhead, you choose your coverage level — because having a great day shouldn’t depend on hoping nothing goes wrong.
Standard Protection
$3,000 Damage Deductible
$750 Recovery or Loss of Use
Included in the price with every rental. A temporary hold of $3,000 is placed on your credit card at the time of rental. If the vehicle is returned without damage, the hold releases in full at the end of your rental. If damage occurs, the hold covers the damage, Recovery, or Loss of use cost up to $3,750.
Upgraded Protection
$1,500 Damage Deductible
$250 Recovery or Loss Of use
For a small upgrade fee, your deductible drops to $1,500. The same hold process applies — the hold reduces to $1,500, giving you significantly more peace of mind on the trail, especially on more technical terrain or with less experienced riders in the group.
Sensible Weather Insurance
Available at booking. If weather conditions on the day of your rental aren’t what you hoped for, Sensible Weather Insurance lets you cancel for a full refund. Central Oregon weather is generally excellent in summer, but shoulder season and early spring can be unpredictable. This option removes the risk entirely.
How It Works — Booking to Trail in Under 30 Minutes
We’ve removed every friction point between booking and riding. Here’s what to expect from start to finish:
Step 1: Book Online or Over The Phone
Select your vehicle, rental duration, and date. You’ll receive a confirmation with detailed directions to our Santiam Pass trailhead — approximately 30 minutes from Bend, 50 minutes from Sunriver, and 5 miles from downtown Sisters.
Step 2: Arrive and Check-In
Your vehicle will be fueled, inspected, and waiting when you arrive. Complete your waiver, select your insurance option, and the damage deposit hold will be placed on your card
Step 3: Orientation
A team member walks you through vehicle operation, the Ride Command GPS system, and the trail overview. This takes about 20 minutes and makes sure everyone in your group is comfortable before you leave the trailhead. No prior ATV experience is required.
Step 4: Go Ride & Have Fun
The GPS routes you through hundreds of miles of Santiam Pass trail system — lava fields, alpine lakes, Cascade Mountain viewpoints, volcanic formations, and hidden terrain that most Central Oregon visitors never reach. Explore at your own pace, stop as long as you want, and return by your end time.

ATV Rental FAQ
Do I need ATV experience to rent?
No experience is required. Our vehicles have automatic transmission and power steering — if you can drive a car, you can drive a Polaris RZR. Every rental begins with a 20-minute orientation covering vehicle operation and the GPS navigation system. The vast majority of our rental guests have never driven a side-by-side before.
Do I need to trailer the ATV to the trail?
No — and this is the biggest difference between Octane Adventures and every other ATV rental in the Bend and Sisters area. We are located at the Santiam Pass trailhead. Your vehicle is already there when you arrive. No trailer, no tow vehicle, no logistics.
What is the minimum age to rent an ATV near Bend?
Drivers must be 21 or older. Drivers with minor passengers must be 25 or older. Passengers must be approximately 48 inches tall to wear a standard automotive seatbelt safely. Children ride inside the enclosed roll cage with full seatbelts — there are no open quads or exposed riding positions in our fleet.
What's included in the rental price?
Every ATV rental includes the vehicle, Polaris Ride Command GPS navigation pre-loaded with the trail map, helmets and goggles for all riders, and a pre-departure orientation. Insurance is selected separately at the time of rental — see our insurance options above.
Can I bring my dog on an ATV rental?
Pets are not recommended on ATV rentals given the terrain, duration, and noise of the vehicles. If you’re planning to bring a dog, contact us at 541-204-4044 before booking so we can discuss your specific situation.
How far in advance should I book an ATV rental near Bend?
We recommend booking at least four weeks in advance for summer weekends. June through September is peak season and vehicles fill quickly, particularly Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Holiday weekends book out weeks ahead. If you’re already in the area, call 541-204-4044 to check same-week availability.
What if the weather is bad on my rental day?
ATV rentals operate rain or shine. Sensible Weather Insurance is available at booking and allows cancellation for a full refund on the day of your rental if conditions are not what you hoped for. If Octane Adventures cancels for safety reasons, you receive a full refund.
What is the cancellation policy?
Cancellations more than 72 hours before your rental date receive a full refund minus a non-refundable 10% booking fee. Within 72 hours you may reschedule, take an in-store credit, or receive 50% of the rental fee back. Cancellations within 24 hours or no-shows receive no refund.
